What is ChatGPT
ChatGPT, which stands for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is a language model built using the GPT architecture. It's trained on a large amount of text from the internet to understand language and context. When given a prompt, it generates human-like responses by predicting the next words based on patterns it learned during training. It's not conscious, but it can hold interactive conversations by considering previous parts of the conversation. Keep in mind that while it's advanced, it might sometimes produce incorrect or biased content.

A Guide to Prompt Writing
2. INSTRUCTIONS
3. DETAILS
4. EXAMPLES
(OPTIONAL)
5. CALL TO ACTION
Set up the context for ChatGPT of what you are about to ask.
Give it background information the same way as if you are about to ask someone a question they should know why you’re asking the question.
Clearly state what you want ChatGPT to do.
This can be a question, request for information, asking for help with a sentence and etc,
If needed add as many relevant details that are relevant.
For example this could be the tone, a certain perspective or a desired word count range.
Giving an example of
a desired output. Can
be in a form of a
snippet or a complete
sentence.
Conclude the prompt
with a clear reminder
of what you want
ChatGPT to achieve.
Prompt Writing Example
1.Context:
You are a tour guide writing a blog post about a famous landmark.
6.Call to Action
Generate the introduction paragraph for the blog post.
3.Details
Aim for a formal tone and approximately 100-150 words.
2.Instruction
Write a compelling introduction for the blog post that captures the historical significance and architectural beauty of the landmark.
4.Example (Optional)
“Nestled amidst rolling hills and lush greenery, the magnificent Castle
Montclair stands as a testament to a bygone era of chivalry and grandeur..."
Very Important Things to Remember
1
ChatGPT will never give you the right answer but it will give you the answer you are asking.
2
The better the information you give it (AKA a prompt), the better the answer you’ll receive.
3
Always do your own fact checking if you are looking for a factual answer.
4
Lastly, ChatGPT is created by humans, so it CAN BE WRONG.
Editing a Response
Of course, ChatGPT isn’t perfect, and sometimes it might get things wrong. But the more people use it and talk to it, the more it can learn and improve. And that’s basically how ChatGPT works!

Iterative Editing
2. SPEFICIC FEEDBACK
3. GUIDED INSTRUCTIONS
4. BREAK IT DOWN
Tell ChatGPT that you are not satisfied and why.
Then ask for it to revise the response.
When asking for the
revisions make sure to
provide specific feedback on what you didn’t like or want to change.
Instead of asking to edit the response you can try a brand new prompt with more in depth instructions for the desired changes.
If you have several pieces of feedback you want to address, you can break it down into separate
prompts.
Iterative Editing Example
1.Initial Response:
The previous response was close, but not quite what I'm looking for.
Can you revise it to focus more on the historical context?
3.Guided Instructions:
Start by discussing the historical significance of the landmark and its
impact on the local community.
2.Specific Feedback:
Let's try this again. Imagine you're writing from a more formal tone.
4.Break It Down
Let's take this step by step. Begin by introducing the historical context and then highlight the architectural features that set the landmark apart.
